Movies

Movie Time

This weekend M and I went to see a movie and we saw the Five Year Engagement with Jason Segel and Emily Blunt. I really enjoyed the movie and it kept both of us laughing. It was a little long, but worth seeing.  The trailer is below....Enjoy!

On Facebook I liked a page called Likeacoupon.com and it gives you great deals! This is one of them.... It already expired, but they seem to have movie ones every once in awhile. We are waiting for our tickets to be mailed to us!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Soccer Time

Remember the soccer ball post from a few weeks ago?! Well, last weekend we played soccer with Jordan. But, I have to tell you it was not enjoyable at first because the field was COMPLETELY muddy! The sun was out and stayed out, so we thought it would be a great day to go kick the soccer ball around, boy were we wrong! M told me that if we were raising children in Oregon that I would probably not go to their practices or games because the fields would always be muddy. He is probably right, good thing we will be in sunny California!!!

Dresses at Ross

This past weekend M got a haircut and while he was doing that I went to Ross just to look around. Then I found these dresses! I got all three for $35.00! Score! I am thinking of wearing one of these to our one year anniversary dinner and the weddings we are going to this summer. I was really excited because the prices are cheaper then TJ Maxx and it was a really clean Ross. I loved the shopper center that the Ross was located in, it had many great little shops.

This on eis $15.99

$11.99

And this one was....

Yep, that is right, $7.00! Can you believe they said this dress was $34.00!?!?

Eating Healthy

I have been recently eating Fage Greek Yogurt and I am loving it! I love the strawberry one, but when the store are out of it I am getting the plain one and cutting up my strawberries and dipping it in the yogurt. And I am drinking lots of water! Can never get enough!

Soccer Ball

My husband met at a time when we were done playing sports and playing music. It makes us both sad that we have not see each other either play a soccer or hockey game or play a concert. That is the one thing I wish we both could have experienced. Since we have been married he has encouraged me to play soccer again. I am not sure if I want to play again, but I do enjoy kicking the ball round. So, on Saturday he sent me out to go purchase a soccer ball, so we could go down to the park and goof around. It felt so good to have the ball at my feet and fool around.

I made this egg banner awhile ago, but never hung it up.

{HomeMADE} Soft Pretzel Bites

These are very good! I was not sure if they would turn out, but they were amazing!

The dough rolled out

Water and Baking Soda Boiling

Pretzel Bites

Being prepared for the oven

Baking

Finished Product!

Ingredients:

Soft Pretzels:
1 1/2 cups warm water
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1 package active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
3 ounces unsalted butter, melted
2 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
4 1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour Vegetable oil
3 quarts water 3/4 cup baking soda
1 whole egg, beaten with
1 tablespoon cold water Coarse sea salt

For the cheese sauce:
1⁄2 Tablespoon unsalted butter
1⁄2 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
1⁄2 cup milk
8 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated

***I tired to make the cheese sauce, but it did not turn out. I would suggest buying some from the store. ;)

Directions:

For the Pretzels: Combine the water, sugar, yeast, and butter in the bowl of a stand mixer and mix with the dough hook until combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Add the salt and flour and mix on low speed until combined. Increase the speed to medium and continue kneading until the dough is smooth and begins to pull away from the side of the bowl, about 3 to 4 minutes. If the dough appears too wet, add additional flour, 1 tablespoon at a time. Remove the dough from the bowl, place on a flat surface and knead into a ball with your hands.
Oil a bowl with vegetable oil, add the dough and turn to coat with the oil. Cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap and place in a warm spot until the dough doubles in size, about 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Bring the water to a boil in a small roasting pan over high heat and add the baking soda.
Remove the dough from the bowl and place on a flat surface. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces, about 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 ounces each. Roll each piece into a long rope measuring 22 inches and shape. Cut the dough into one inch pieces to make the pretzel bites. Boil the pretzel bites in the water solution in batches. We did about 15 bites at a time. Boil for about 30 seconds. Remove with a large slotted spoon. Place pretzel bites on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Make sure they are not touching. Brush the tops with the egg wash and season liberally with the salt. Place into the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
Remove to a baking rack and let rest 5 minutes before eating. Serve with cheese sauce.

To make the cheese sauce:

Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the flour and cook 1 minute. Whisk in the milk and cook until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the Cheddar cheese until smooth and all of the cheese is melted. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
