Dog Beach

A few weeks ago I went to the dog beach with my sister, my parents and of course E. He loved the beach and that frisbee. All E wanted to do was have my dad throw the frisbee and if some other dog took his frisbee he was a little confused and tried to find one of us. There was this little dog that would not leave E alone it was a funny watching him try to get rid of the dog. It was a great afternoon with my family and no trip out with my family would be complete without going to 7-11 to pick up some candy and soda for the drive home...

Model Homes

Over the summer my mom and I went to some model home in South Orange County. I love walking through the homes and getting inspired to update my apartment or just to redecorate or use something for a new purpose. But, I really get excited thinking about the future home my husband and I will buy. Sometimes we will fantasize about our "house"or browse through Zillow. I know that is a few years off, we need to get through the next year and half of law school before thinking about any BIG purchases. But, I still love to whip out my iPhone and start taking pictures of the models. Here are just a few I have on my phone...

Just re looking at the pictures makes me excited to start redecorating my place.

I Am Back...

Hi Blog World!

It has been a very long time since my last blog post and I feel like I am ready to blog again. I have been thinking about it a lot lately and I think it is time to jump back in.

I have been working the 6:00am to 3:00pm shift at work, so when I get home I am really tired, but I have started a nice little routine when I get home. I watch E! News, go to the gym, making dinner, shower, watch a little TV and then pretty much get in bed (most nights I am in bed by 8:30pm!!). So, I am hoping to plan out blog posts on the weekend.

My husband is in his second year of Law School and almost done with the semester. Well, he still feels like he has a long way to go, but I feel like December is right around the corner. I cannot wait until 2015 when school is over and we start the next chapter of our lives. It sometimes kills me not knowing where he is going to work and if we are going to stay in California.

My sister is working in the same department as me at work. It has been a great experience working with her and having another person who just keeps working and working. All that work has paid off because the last two months, that's right the last two months, she has been employee of the month. We have shorten it to EOTM and now I am adding an A at the end for again.

My parents got the another German Shepherd!
This is Elijah!

I do not know what direction this blog will go, but I figured I would just stick with title of my blog, Everyday Things From my Life, for now until it finds its direction.

Happy Hump Day!

Move In Weekend

This past weekend has been an exhausting one! We moved into our new place on Friday and it was an all day thing! But, the good thing is that we got almost everything in on Friday and some things trickled in throughout the weekend. But, boy do my feet hurt!

My mother-in-law gave us this beauty. We are going to hang it over our couch since we have so much wall space to cover.

This was how it looked on Saturday

I got blinds for our bedroom because the light in the morning was awful

I got this from my parent's house and it is where i am keeping my baking supplies

The first time I did laundry in a communal place. I am finally getting the college experience

This is the progress I made on my desk. My parents bought that desk for me when I was in the third grade! I still love it!

This is how our living room is coming

I got this fake plant at Ikea. I love it and it only cost around $6.00 for the pot and plant.

I also got this at Ikea for $10.00 and I am going to hang it behind the door in the shower area.

I got a shower curtain from Target. I love the apple green color of it.

When I first walked into our apartment on Friday morning I was terrified about how everything we owned would fit into a smaller place, but it is actually working out. I really have to say thank you to everyone who has helped us move in and has given us free furniture and decorating items. All the help has made this empty apartment feel like a home to M and I.

On a side note M starts his orientation this week and then starts law school next week! It is so crazy that it is finally here! I am so excited for him, if you think about it pray for him.

I will be posting more pictures of our place soon!

During my break from blogging we went to a wedding in Oxnard, California. It was a great wedding and a great get away for M and I. Here are a few pictures from the wedding:

It was on a large piece of land that a family owned and they had animals all over! The wedding took place outside on the lawn and the reception was inside a barn.

Headband

The other night I was cruising Pinterest and I found the braided headband. Looking at the picture guide, it looked easy to do and it actually turned out really well. Here is mine:
